An initial screening consultation can be performed by individuals such as Dentists, Nurses, Therapists etc.  But only an MD is qualified to diagnose and prescribe treatment for Breathing Related Sleep Disorders.  Your consultation will most likely involve a medical History, Oral and upper airway examination and questionnaire.  This information will be utilized to help determine if your problem is Breathing Related.   The Sleep Specialist or MD will most likely order an over-night Sleep Study in order to determine the severity of your problem.
